Where do I begin besides WOW! If I could say one thing, it’s that a weekend is not enough time to explore what Hong Kong has to offer. From Big Buddha to HK Disneyland, we definitely kept ourselves busy.
The first full day in HK, or Saturday, the 22nd, we spent visiting Big Buddha, some of the temples, and going downtown. There was so much to see and such little time! We tried traditional Chinese food, grabbed some souvenirs, took some cute selfies, and made the most of our short time there.
Once we got to Disneyland on Sunday, we found out that there was a Tsunami level 8 warning, so the park was closed until further notice. If the warning did not lessen by 2pm, the park would be closed all day. Since Brock and I got free tickets from my amazing friend, Erin, and we were only able to go that day, we decided to stick it out. We spent the morning visiting the different Disney Resorts. Finally, at 1:30pm, the warning changed to a level 3. The park opened! We weren’t let in until 3:30, since they still had to set up the park, but there were absolutely no lines! Well, hardly any. I think our longest wait was maybe 8 minutes. It was crazy! We were luckily able to go on all of the rides we wanted to, some multiple times, and we even saw two shows, not including the final fireworks show.
We had a little difficulty at the airport with a few things, but besides that, it was very easy to get around. The people were very helpful and signs were very clear as to where to go.
